Shabbat Shalom

Shabbat, Sabbath or time of rest in Hebrew — and shalom means peace. It is more than just rest and peace though, it is the celebration of a work which has been completed, according to scripture. Got a lot accomplished this week so I am celebrating. Hope you all are too. Shabbat Shalom. ~Thoughts from the Negev :)

Love the hardships

I love my life. I love the good times but I also love the hardships because I know that they help me to grow and enable me to be a person who can better love and serve others. Just sayin. ~Thoughts from the Negev :)

Never be afraid of change

Never be afraid of change. Things may not be working out exactly the way you thought — and you’re scared of what that might mean for you. But when you take that one faith-building step forward, there will appear new endeavors, bright horizons, exciting plans that you could not even imagine, which were prepared for you from the beginning of time. Be encouraged – it’s gonna be ok. ~Thoughts from the Negev :)

Believe

I believe in the sun even when it isn’t shining. I believe in love even when I am alone. I believe in God even when He is silent. ~Thoughts from the Negev :)

Why is this happening?

I’m always contemplating the circumstances in my life. Why is this happening? What am I doing wrong? How can I fix it? I love this quote by Ben Franklin~The best way to see Faith is to shut the eye of Reason. While there is room for reasoning at times, it’s good to consider that we may never have all the answers…… and give our concerns to the One who holds us in the palm of His hand. ~Thoughts from the Negev :)

Worth the wait

I am SO blessed to have a husband who loves me. loves his kids. loves his life and yet lays it down in order to give me the chance to walk through doors I never could without his doing so. Thank you Honey, for being so good to me and for being such a good abba to the kiddos. You are the love of my life and I will purpose to cherish you more. ♥ Um… note to all my single ladies — don’t settle for less than you deserve — it’s worth the wait. ~Thoughts from the Negev :)

Learn to Walk

Ever tried to walk forward while looking the other way? Doesn’t really work, does it? We bump into things, trip and fall etc. That’s what it’s like in life when we are trying to move forward, all the while looking at our past, wishing it was “the way things were” or fearing “something might hurt us like it did back then” — it doesn’t work! Let’s look AHEAD to bigger and better things! ~Thoughts from the Negev :)

Weighty Matters

Something I’ve struggled with for years…well ok, I’ll just tell you. My weight. There. I said it, lol. Ugh. But today I understood that griping about it, or even being open and making my issues known to the universe, just really does not help me. The proverbs say that the power of life and death are in the tongue. Let’s stop all the complaining and the negativity today. Speak LIFE. ~Thoughts from the Negev :)

Before you Criticize

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you’re a mile way….. and you have their shoes. -Author Unknown ~Thoughts from the Negev :)
